Shopping Spree Cutie - Iron Mouse Jam 2024
Worked with Steph on this month long gamejam for the popular Twitch streamer IronMouse!
One day, Ironmouse happened to stumble upon Bubi’s credit card and decided to go on a shopping trip! The Store has a ton of items from Vshojo, Vchiban, and other fun little references!
Buy as many items as you can and aim for a “high” score before Bubi catches you and stops you from putting him in large amounts of credit card debt! There is also a secret ending :)
How it was made
The game started it’s life looking like a really janky doom mod … a doom mod with Cinnamoroll. While we didn’t use the doom engine we took inspiration from the look of early doom with how we wanted to approach our jam game in Godot.
Development had slowed down a bit in the second week as I work as a QA tester in the games industry and had been putting some overtime. Never the less more work was put into creating the general room layout and some various art assets (blocky hands grabbed off opengameart.org no more).
In the last two weeks we were grinding away at finishing the main gameplay loop including being chased by Bubi and the VN scenes. I had lost a few days of dev work to building a settings menu from scratch which I have since learned I should probably keep a simple one ready and built before jumping into these jams haha.
